See real Alpacas, a spinning wheel, looms.  Learn how to knit, crochet, or hook a rig.  Try you hand at weaving on a loom.  This is for all ages and abilities.  We will have some yarn, needles and looms for you to use that day.  The looms will be from very simple to more sophisticated.  This is a day for fun and trying something new or just coming to view some products made by local artisans.

On October 2nd you can come to the Senior Center on Bridge Street at see what an Alpaca looks like.  What does their fiber feel like?  Have you ever dyed cloth or fiber?  Would you believe you can use onion skins or marigold flowers to dye cloth?

Watch an artist spin fiber.  See how a loom is used to weave.  Did you know this is how clothing can be made?

Would you like to try making a scarf?  We will have yarn, needles and teachers to help with all ages.  Yarn and needles will be available to learn with.  We will have some fiber to use for hooking rugs if you would like to try that.

millOne of the HIGHLITES OF THE DAY is to see pictures of the Montgomery Mill on Factory Street in earlier years.  View pictures and information on the Mill as it was an important part of our Village History.  You can go to the Mill and still see some of the looms!  They also have some Alpaca Fiber and yarns.

This will be a great day for all ages!  Come watch or join in.
