The Closing Ceremonies will be spectacular with the famous Hudson Valley Regional Police Pipes & Drums Band, a General Montgomery Day Parade favorite.
The band was formed in March of 2000 by a small group of law enforcement officers who played in various civilian bagpipe bands in the Hudson Valley Region. They began with ten members who had a mutual desire to serve their community and within two years tripled their membership and continue to grow today. They are comprised of law enforcement officers who are employed or reside within the Hudson Valley Region and are of Irish descent. Their commitment is to assist their community by providing quality entertainment in a variety of ways.
The band members are clad in an original tartan which the band has registered with the Scotish Tartan Society. A gold colored shield is worn on the chest which represents the Hudson Valley law enforcement community. The Shamrock in the center is a symbol of Ireland.
