The Barber Shop Quartet, "Dented Fenders" will be performing on July 24, 2010 at 3:30pm in Front of DeLessio's Barber Shop.
It's somewhere between s classic and an antique. It looks a little rough but still runs pretty good. When all four cylinders fire it has a sound that can still turn heads. It's "Dented Fenders".
This custom was built using parts from several different musical vehicles. They started with baritone Bill "Bad Wheels" Schultz. Bill has sung with numerous church and civic groups and presently sings with the Troy and Saratoga Men's barbershop Choruses. Next, they added the bass, Bob "Bent Bumpers" Bowes. Bob has sung with more quartets than we could list. His quartet "Just Four Friends" won the 1998 Northeastern district Seniors Quartet contest. Bob currently sings with The Berkshire Hillsmen Chorus of Pittsfield. Then they added their lead, Ed "Rusty Grill" Hilligas. Ed brings more than 20 years of barbershop experience and three Northeastern District quartet championships to the group. The final part was added when tenor Dan "Dusty Dashboard" Driscoll came on board. Dan also boasts 20+ years of experience and had three Northeastern District quartet championships. He is also a member of the current Seneca Land quartet champions, "Bravo".
Together this quartet just loves to sing. Whether it's a barbershop standard, an irreverent parody, a seasonal favorite or anything else, their excitement and enjoyment are infectious. So sit back and fasten your seatbelt while we tach it up, drop the clutch and go cruising with "Dented Fenders".
