The Maybrook Boy Scout Band will be performing during the Fireworks show on July 17, 2010 at 9:30.
Since its beginning in 1985 the Troop 236 Boy Scout Band from Maybrook, New York has marched in over 600 Firemen’s, St. Patrick’s day, Columbus Day, Veteran’s Day and Christmas Day Parades in areas all over New York State. The Band also marches every year in the General Montgomery Day Parade.
The band has won at least 150 trophies for being the best junior band in many of these parades.
The band has performed 8 times in Disneyworld including 3 times marching down Main Street in Magic Kingdom. We have also performed at Kings Dominion Theme Park in Doswell, Virginia as well as in Busch gardens Old Country and in Colonial Williamsburg in Williamsburg, Virginia. We have played at the Welcoming Center at the Gettysburg Civil War Site. In addition, the band has played at the World War II Monument, on the steps of the U. S. Capital and on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C.
This year we led over 1,000 scouts down Fifth Avenue in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in honor of the Boy Scouts of America’s 100th Anniversary. We will once again be performing on August 16th in the Magic Kingdom in one of Disney’s premier parades down Main Street to celebrate our Troop’s 25th Anniversary. The Scout Master and Band Director is James R. Barnett.
